Where We Are
KBP's campus is located on 23 acres in Owensboro, Kentucky. Our state-of-the-art facilities include:
MANUFACTURING FACILITIES (cGMP capable)
KBP has 32,000 ft2 of manufacturing space, including 5,000 ft2 of clean room space from class 100,000 down to class 100 for finish and fill. Lab facilities include a research and development lab and a separate Quality Assurance lab. We have specialized facilities for bench and pilot scale work, along with full commercial capabilities.
BIOMASS FACILITIES
Plant growth facilities include a 55,000 ft2 fully contained indoor biomass production facility with 1.4 acres of multi-layered plant growth space. A separate 26,000 ft2 plant growth complex includes seeding, harvest and transfection space, along with five individual greenhouses at 2,000 ft2 each.
FIELD PRODUCTION CAPABILITIES
We have developed a network of farmers trained in regulatory requirements for growing KBPs plants under United States Department of Agriculture APHIS permit.
WHAT WE DO
KBP's facilities allow us to express and process purified proteins in experimental stages or at full production scale. Our process supports milligram quantities for bench work and continues through kilogram quantities at commercial-scale production under cGMP conditions. An integrated approach allows early-stage product development work to proceed at lower costs while assuring seamless transfer to larger scale processing facilities as the project progresses.
